The nomination committee of research company Irlab Therapeutics has proposed the election of Jan-Fredrik "Janne" Backman as the new Vice Chairman and James "Jim" Gamgort as a new board member ahead of the annual general meeting later this spring, according to a press release.

Backman brings over 20 years of experience from the international life science industry, having held positions at companies such as The Medicines Company, Merck Serono, and AstraZeneca.

Gamgort has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors, with a background including Johnson & Johnson, Merck, The Medicines Company, and Alcresta Therapeutics.

Board member Christer Nordstedt has declined re-election.

The committee proposes the re-election of Chair Carola Lemne and board members Gunnar Olsson, Rein Piir, and Veronica Wallin. However, Lemne has announced that she intends to step down from the chair on September 30, 2024, for personal reasons.
