ZUG (dpa-AFX) - The second and third tiers of the German stock market are seeing numerous changes at the start of the week. The MDax will welcome newcomers Aumovio and TKMS, while Gerresheimer and Hellofresh are being relegated to the small-cap index SDax. This was announced by index provider Stoxx, which is part of Deutsche Börse, back in early December. According to the announcement, there will be no changes to the Dax.

In addition to the pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer and meal kit provider Hellofresh, the SDax will now also include prosthetics manufacturer Ottobock, toy company Tonies, biofuel producer Verbio, and PSI Software.

Leaving the SDax are LPKF, Stratec, Thyssenkrupp Nucera, Formycon, Procredit, and Amadeus Fire.

Index changes are particularly significant for funds that physically replicate indices (physically replicating ETFs). These funds must then adjust their holdings and weightings accordingly, which can influence share prices./mis/tih
