SEOUL, June 4 (Reuters) - South Korean defence firm Hanwha Aerospace said on Thursday it will halt production lines at nine South Korean sites on June 4 and 5 for safety checks and training, except for some key production processes.

The safety check follows a deadly explosion and fire at Hanwha Aerospace's factory in the city of Daejeon this week, which killed five workers and injured two others.

South Korea's Labour Ministry searched Hanwha's headquarters in Seoul and its factory in Daejeon, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Hanwha declined to comment on the report.
