GomSpace signed SECUSAT contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) for the development of an advanced, security-enhanced generation of its NanoCom product line. The agreement, valued at EUR 1.2 million (SEK), confirms ESA's confidence in GomSpace's technological leadership and marks a significant milestone in the evolution of secure satellite communications. SECUSAT will deliver evolved and more secure communication and onboard computer products, designed to meet the growing demand for resilient communications in increasingly contested space and terrestrial environments.
The project is focused on integrating next-generation cryptographic and secure communication protocols, directly into GomSpace's space-proven subsystems. By embedding advanced encryption and authentication mechanisms at the core of the communication layer, SECUSAT strengthens protection against cyber threats targeting space infrastructures and provides customers with end-to-end secure data transport, adaptable across both institutional and commercial missions.
