(Alliance News) - Eni Spa announced on Thursday that it has signed a binding agreement with SOCAR, the state oil company of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for the sale of a 10% stake in the Baleine project.

This is the main offshore development in Ivory Coast, operated by Eni with a 47.25% share, and participated by Vitol with 30% and Petroci with 22.75%.

As the company explained in a statement, the closing of the transaction is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals and other customary clauses and conditions.

Eni has been present in Ivory Coast since 2015.

Eni shares rise by 0.4% to EUR16.58 per share.
