The U.K.'s antitrust regulator said it is inviting parties to submit initial views on the impact that E.ON SE's acquisition of Ovo Energy could have on the country's market.
The Competition and Markets Authority said Wednesday that while it hasn't launched a formal investigation, this invitation is the first part of the process to gather information.
The deadline for parties to comment is July 23, it said.
In May, German utility group E.ON said it would acquire rival Ovo Energy for an undisclosed sum.
