Croatian Metro Cash & Carry, part of Germany-based food wholesaler Metro, said it has appointed Tomislav Smolcec as the company's new CEO, effective in October. He will replace Imre Horvath, who has led Metro's Croatian operations through a challenging market period and will become senior deputy chairman for talent and organisation at parent company Metro AG from October 1, Metro said in a press release on Tuesday. Smolcec joined Metro in 2015 and has served as executive head of operations and management board member since 2020.
