Colas (Bouygues) to rehabilitate new runway at Paris-Orly airport
Colas, acting as lead contractor for a consortium including its subsidiary Tersen as well as Spie Batignolles Valérian, JDC Airports, and Cegelec, has announced it was selected by Groupe ADP for the rehabilitation of Runway 4 at Paris-Orly airport. Work is scheduled to begin in August 2026 and will last approximately four months.
'More than 350 employees will be mobilized to rehabilitate the 3,350 meters of Runway 4 and its access taxiways', stated the Bouygues subsidiary, which specializes in the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure and urban development.
This large-scale project also includes the renovation of seven taxiways and the reconfiguration of a strategic intersection. Furthermore, the operation involves the modernization of other aeronautical infrastructure, such as the installation of over 40 kilometers of lighting and drainage networks.
In line with its environmental commitments, Colas will deploy several innovative solutions designed to reduce carbon emissions by 48% compared to the initial specifications. Additionally, nearly 90% of the demolition materials will be recycled, either directly on-site or through Tersen's recovery and recycling platforms.
In recent years, Colas has renovated Runway 3 at Paris-Orly, Runways 1 and 3 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, as well as runways at Nice Côte d'Azur and Luxembourg. Internationally, the group recently delivered the third runway in Bangkok and is currently constructing a taxiway in Los Angeles.
