Caterpillar unveiled a new artificial-intelligence assistant and is expanding its Nvidia partnership as the equipment manufacturer leans into AI.
The company also said Wednesday at CES 2026 in Las Vegas that it was committing $25 million over five years to launch a global innovation prize in an effort to train employees for an AI-driven workplace.
Caterpillar Chief Executive Officer Joe Creed, who was also named executive chairman on Tuesday, introduced the CAT AI Assistance during his CES keynote. The assistant will unify the company's portfolio of digital tools and data into one conversational platform, the company said.
Creed also said Caterpillar is expanding its collaboration with Nvidia to work on on-board AI features, scaling agentic AI across its products and industries, and improving physical production systems.
Caterpillar also previewed five autonomous machines designed for construction settings, branching out from its use of autonomous machinery in mining equipment.
