SAO PAULO, June 15 (Reuters) - Brazilian asset manager IG4 has made a non-binding offer for the credits of sugar and ethanol firm Raizen, local newspaper Valor Economico reported on Monday, citing sources.
IG4 made the proposal to Raizen's creditors, and intends to acquire just above 50% of the credits, becoming the controlling shareholder of Raizen upon the conclusion of its ongoing debt restructuring, Valor added.
Earlier this month, Raizen secured sufficient backing from creditors to proceed with an out-of-court restructuring totaling approximately 65 billion reais ($12.57 billion), the largest recorded in the country.
