Advanced Micro Devices said it planned to invest up to 2 billion pounds ($2.67 billion) to bolster computing and research into artificial intelligence in the U.K. over the next five years.
The chip maker said it was working with Dell Technologies and the University of Cambridge to expand AI infrastructure, and with Imperial College London to support research into the technology.
AMD and Imperial College also plan to explore how to optimize AI models and data-intensive applications on AMD compute platforms.
