Accor has announced the appointment of Jean-Claude Balanos as Chief Operating Officer - Franchise France for its Premium, Midscale, and Economy brands. Based in Paris, he joins the executive committee led by Karelle Lamouche, CEO Europe & North Africa for this division.

In his new role, he will be tasked with enhancing operational quality, value creation, and relationships with franchise partners, a central pillar of the group's strategy. Franchising remains a preferred development model to support network expansion and brand performance in France.

With over 38 years of experience at Accor, Jean-Claude Balanos began his career in hotel operations before holding several general management positions in France and Spain. He subsequently moved into regional operations and commercial leadership roles.

He most recently served as Senior Vice President Operations Franchise France for the division. Additionally, he sits on the board of directors of the Fédération Française de la Franchise.

The stock is down 0.6%, while the CAC 40 index has retreated 0.8%.
