Solar energy company Absolicon has signed a definitive agreement to deliver a solar thermal plant to Athenian Brewery, the Heineken Group's Greek operations.

The 528-square-meter, 370-kilowatt facility is to be installed at the brewery in Thessaloniki and will be utilized for malt drying.

The project is part of an international demonstration program for sustainable industrial heat supply and is expected to be completed during the autumn of 2026.

The company announced on April 27 that it had been selected as the winning bidder for the project. The indicative order value was stated at SEK 3.7 million, excluding shipping costs.
