Mr. Yong Xu is Chairman at Yifang Ventures, Inc.
Dr. Xu is the co-founder of Baidu, the largest Chinese search engine in the world.
From 1999 to 2004, he served as Executive Vice PresidentandChief Strategy Officer of Baidu.
Before founding Baidu, Dr. Xu worked at two U.S.
biotechnology companies QIAGEN INC and STRATAGENE INC for technical support and marketing.
From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Xu Yong engaged himself in a large TV documentary titled, “A Journey to Silicon Valley”, which thoroughly revealed the success secrets of Silicon Valley.
In the period from 1982 to 1989, Mr. Xu studied in the Biology Department of Peking University, and received hisbachelor and master’s degrees in biology.
In 1993, he obtained a Ph.D.
in Biology from Texas A&M University in the U.S.
and completed his post-doctoral research work at the University of California, Berkeley from 1994-1996.
